Valvetronic exhaust system for the Porsche 997.2 Carrera (2009-2012), replacing both the side and center mufflers with a system that switches between two distinct sounds. Valves closed give a smooth, drone-free flat-six note only slightly louder than stock; open them for a raw, race-bred tone similar to a Porsche Cup car, bypassing the X-pipe and mufflers. It uses Silicon Carbide A UK-based maker of the exhaust valve mechanisms used in this system. exhaust valves and a CAD-designed, investment-cast X-pipe, saves 5 kg versus the factory system, and stays 50-state emissions legal with the OEM catalytic converters retained. PSE-equipped cars use the factory PSE button; non-PSE cars get a complete valve controller kit with instructions.

Frequently asked

Does the Valved Exhaust System fit my 911 Carrera?

This listing is specific to the Porsche 911 Carrera (997.2). Exact fitment for your year, trim and options is confirmed on your free consult before anything is ordered.

What does the price include?

The delivered price includes the part from Fabspeed USA, freight to Australia, import costs and GST. Enter your postcode to refine delivery; the final figure is confirmed on consult.

How long until it arrives?

Every Fabspeed part is made in-house at Fabspeed USA with about a one-week production lead time, then allow another 3-4 days for delivery to Australia via UPS. That freight is already included in the price.

Does this work with the factory PSE button?

Yes, on PSE-equipped cars it works with the factory Porsche Sport Exhaust button; non-PSE cars get a full valve controller kit instead.

Is it emissions legal?

Yes, it's 50-state emissions legal, since the OEM catalytic converters are retained.

What's the difference in sound between the two valve settings?

Closed, it's a smooth, drone-free flat-six note only slightly louder than stock; open, it bypasses the X-pipe and mufflers for a raw, race-bred tone similar to a Porsche Cup car.

Which option should I choose?

Choose Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE) if your Carrera already has the factory PSE button, since the system will operate through it directly. Choose Standard Exhaust if your car isn't PSE-equipped, and Fabspeed includes a complete valve controller kit with instructions so you get the same open/closed valve control.

Who installs it?

Rennen Motorsport in Adelaide, or an authorised dealer near you. Fitting it yourself may also be an option depending on the part, so raise it on your consult; professional installation is quoted separately.

Is it covered by warranty?

Fabspeed products carry the manufacturer's warranty, supported locally through Rennen Plus as the Australian principal. See our returns policy.

Can I just buy this outright, or do I need to talk to someone first?

Every enquiry, whether it's one part or a full build, starts with a free consult. We confirm the exact spec for your car before anything is quoted or ordered.
