A patented "Y"-design intake plenum from Innovative Pro Design (IPD) for the 997 Carrera, replacing the factory plastic air distributor with a bolt-on aluminium unit for smoother, less turbulent airflow and more linear power delivery. It's offered as a 3.8L plenum for the Carrera S, a 3.6L plenum for the base Carrera, or a Competition package pairing either plenum with a larger 82mm 997 GT3 throttle body. On IPD's own testing the 3.8L version adds up to 28 hp and 26 lb-ft in the midrange, with full gains realised once the factory ECU completes its adaptation.

Frequently asked

Which cars does the IPD Intake Plenum fit?

Fits your Porsche 997 Carrera. Fabspeed lists this piece for: Porsche 911 Carrera (997, 2005-2008). Exact fitment for your year, trim and options is confirmed on your free consult before anything is ordered.

What does the price include?

The delivered price includes the part from Fabspeed USA, freight to Australia, import costs and GST. Enter your postcode to refine delivery; the final figure is confirmed on consult.

How long until it arrives?

Every Fabspeed part is made in-house at Fabspeed USA with about a one-week production lead time, then allow another 3-4 days for delivery to Australia via UPS. That freight is already included in the price.

How much power does this add?

IPD's own testing shows up to 28 hp and 26 lb-ft in the midrange on the 3.8L Carrera S version, with the 3.6L base Carrera version adding slightly less.

Does it need an ECU flash?

No, but full gains are only realised once the factory ECU completes its own adaptation, which Fabspeed says can be sped up with a series of hard pulls on a closed course.

Which option should I choose?

Match the plenum to your engine: the 3.8L option is for the Carrera S, the 3.6L option is for the base Carrera. If you're already running a high-performance exhaust and want the larger 82mm 997 GT3 throttle body alongside the plenum, choose the Competition package instead.

Who installs it?

Rennen Motorsport in Adelaide, or an authorised dealer near you. Fitting it yourself may also be an option depending on the part, so raise it on your consult; professional installation is quoted separately.

Is it covered by warranty?

Fabspeed products carry the manufacturer's warranty, supported locally through Rennen Plus as the Australian principal. See our returns policy.

Can I just buy this outright, or do I need to talk to someone first?

Every enquiry, whether it's one part or a full build, starts with a free consult. We confirm the exact spec for your car before anything is quoted or ordered.
