Built on the bones of a VolkswagenThe first Continental GT shared its underlying platform and running gear with the Volkswagen Phaeton luxury saloon, a much cheaper stablemate under the same corporate ownership. Bentley still engineered its own W12 engine and air suspension around that shared base.

A different rescuer saved Bentley in the 1920sEight decades before Volkswagen underwrote the Continental GT's development, Bentley was saved by a single wealthy racing driver. Woolf Barnato, whose fortune came from his father's diamond and gold mining empire, took control of the struggling company in 1926 and went on to win Le Mans in a Bentley all three times he entered it, a perfect record no other manufacturer's driver has matched.

Performance Package

The W12 Continental GT and GTC span three generations of Bentley's grand tourer, and Fabspeed builds one package across that whole run: a Supercup exhaust system paired with a resonator and secondary cat bypass X-Pipe, a BMC F1 replacement air filter, and an optional ECU tune. Everything is built from 14 to 16 gauge T304 stainless steel and mandrel-bent for a clean bolt-on fit, a genuine step up on a car whose factory exhaust is tuned for near total silence.
