Fabspeed's Cat Bypass Pipes replace the factory catalytic converters on the RSQ8 with zero-restriction straight pipes, using a gradual 5-to-3 inch transition for the best possible flow. With the cats gone the exhaust note turns noticeably more aggressive; this is no longer a subtle SUV. Built from Bent over an internal mandrel so the tube keeps a constant diameter through the bend, unlike crush-bending. T304L stainless steel with a CNC-machined flange, it saves 13.4 lbs (6kg) versus the stock catalytic converters. Because the cats are fully removed rather than replaced, Fabspeed recommends its HJS high-flow sport cats instead for anything other than closed-course use, since those flow 93% of a straight pipe while keeping emissions scrubbing intact. Bolt-on installation, no cutting or welding required.

Frequently asked

Does the Competition Link Pipes fit my RSQ8?

This listing is specific to the Audi RSQ8. Exact fitment for your year, trim and options is confirmed on your free consult before anything is ordered.

What does the price include?

The delivered price includes the part from Fabspeed USA, freight to Australia, import costs and GST. Enter your postcode to refine delivery; the final figure is confirmed on consult.

How long until it arrives?

Every Fabspeed part is made in-house at Fabspeed USA with about a one-week production lead time, then allow another 3-4 days for delivery to Australia via UPS. That freight is already included in the price.

What's the difference between this and Fabspeed's HJS sport cats?

These pipes remove the catalytic converters entirely for maximum flow, while the HJS sport cats keep emissions scrubbing while still flowing 93% of a straight pipe. Fabspeed recommends the HJS cats for anything beyond closed-course use.

Will removing the cats trigger a check engine light?

Yes, removing the OEM catalytic converters can trigger a check engine light on OBD2-equipped cars.

How much weight does it save?

13.4 lbs (6kg) compared to the factory catalytic converters.

Is this legal for road use?

Fabspeed states this product is intended for closed track events and off-road use only, and is not CARB or EPA certified.

Who installs it?

Rennen Motorsport in Adelaide, or an authorised dealer near you. Fitting it yourself may also be an option depending on the part, so raise it on your consult; professional installation is quoted separately.

Is it covered by warranty?

Fabspeed products carry the manufacturer's warranty, supported locally through Rennen Plus as the Australian principal. See our returns policy.

Can I just buy this outright, or do I need to talk to someone first?

Every enquiry, whether it's one part or a full build, starts with a free consult. We confirm the exact spec for your car before anything is quoted or ordered.
