XperTune performance software for the McLaren MP4-12C 3.8L Twin Turbo V8, applied by bench-flashing the The car's engine control unit; reprogramming it changes fuelling, ignition timing and boost pressure. rather than tuning through the OBD-II port. Customers send in their ECU, which Fabspeed reprograms with new sensor input, air/fuel ratio and boost pressure settings and returns for straightforward reinstallation, with no other modifications needed. Output rises from a stock 555 whp / 429 ft-lbs to 606 whp / 496 ft-lbs, a peak gain of over 92 whp and 82 ft-lbs of torque at 5900 rpm. Separate maps are available for stock cars or ones already running sport cats, cat-bypass pipes, an upgraded exhaust or turbos.
