IPD's high-performance intake plenum for the 991 Carrera, a direct bolt-on that replaces the factory air intake distributor using the existing hardware and throttle body, worth roughly 15 hp at the wheels. The a dimpled Y-shaped interior surface that makes airflow more laminar, or less turbulent, through the intake design and aluminum construction run cooler than the factory plastic unit and resist heat soak. It's not required on X51-equipped cars, which already run an efficient factory plenum, and Fabspeed recommends a Porsche-trained technician for the 4-5 hour install.

Frequently asked

Which cars does the IPD Plenum fit?

Fits your Porsche 997.2 Turbo. Fabspeed lists this piece for: Porsche 991 Carrera 3.4L and Carrera S 3.8L (2012-2016); not required on X51 models. Exact fitment for your year, trim and options is confirmed on your free consult before anything is ordered.

What does the price include?

The delivered price includes the part from Fabspeed USA, freight to Australia, import costs and GST. Enter your postcode to refine delivery; the final figure is confirmed on consult.

How long until it arrives?

Every Fabspeed part is made in-house at Fabspeed USA with about a one-week production lead time, then allow another 3-4 days for delivery to Australia via UPS. That freight is already included in the price.

Does this need an ECU flash to work?

No. A correctly installed IPD plenum shouldn't require an ECU flash or trigger a check engine light on its own.

Is it worth fitting on an X51 car?

No. X51 models already come with an efficient factory intake plenum tuned accordingly, so this upgrade won't add power.

Which option should I choose?

Choose Carrera 3.4L for the base 991 Carrera and Carrera S 3.8L for the Carrera S; the plenum is specifically machined for each engine's factory intake geometry. Skip this altogether if your car is an X51-equipped model, which already carries an efficient factory plenum.

Who installs it?

Rennen Motorsport in Adelaide, or an authorised dealer near you. Fitting it yourself may also be an option depending on the part, so raise it on your consult; professional installation is quoted separately.

Is it covered by warranty?

Fabspeed products carry the manufacturer's warranty, supported locally through Rennen Plus as the Australian principal. See our returns policy.

Can I just buy this outright, or do I need to talk to someone first?

Every enquiry, whether it's one part or a full build, starts with a free consult. We confirm the exact spec for your car before anything is quoted or ordered.
