The first RS6 with any hybrid helpThe C8-generation RS6 Avant introduced a 48-volt mild-hybrid system to the nameplate for the first time. It recovers up to 12kW under braking and briefly shuts the engine off on a trailing throttle to save fuel.

It reached America only after three generations without itEvery previous RS6 Avant had stayed in Europe, sold there as a wagon while the United States went without it or received a sedan instead, but the C8-generation RS6 Avant finally reached American customers for the 2020 model year. It made its US debut at a Sunday morning Cars and Coffee meet in Malibu rather than at a traditional motor show.
