Fabspeed's own construction process is built to outlast the MSO tips, and each tip carries an added heat shield rated to withstand 800°F directly and 1200°F indirectly. They install as a direct replacement with no modification needed. Because the carbon follows the OEM metal finisher shape, a section of it sits directly in the exhaust stream - expect some discoloration or blistering at the inner edge over time, especially from extended idling.
