Performance DME Chip

A performance DME chip for early Porsche 993 Carrera models (1994-1995, excluding some rest-of-world '95 cars with Porsche's variable-length intake system, tuned for two different rpm ranges.), reprogramming the factory sensor inputs, air/fuel ratios, and boost tables to sharpen throttle response and fill in low and mid-range torque. On Fabspeed's dyno a '95 993 went from 232hp to 247hp at the crank, a gain of about 18hp, with torque up 10 to 20 ft-lbs across the range. Programmed by default for 91 (95 RON) octane or higher, with a 93 (98 RON) option available on request. Won't trigger a check engine light. Later 1996-1998 993s use an ECU software tune instead of a physical chip.
Frequently asked
Does the Performance DME Chip fit my 911 Carrera?
This listing is specific to the Porsche 911 Carrera (993). Exact fitment for your year, trim and options is confirmed on your free consult before anything is ordered.
What does the price include?
The delivered price includes the part from Fabspeed USA, freight to Australia, import costs and GST. Enter your postcode to refine delivery; the final figure is confirmed on consult.
How long until it arrives?
Every Fabspeed part is made in-house at Fabspeed USA with about a one-week production lead time, then allow another 3-4 days for delivery to Australia via UPS. That freight is already included in the price.
How much power does the chip add?
On Fabspeed's dyno, a '95 993 gained about 18hp at the crank (232hp to 247hp), with torque up 10 to 20 ft-lbs through the rev range.
Which 993s does this fit?
Early 1994-1995 993 Carreras, except some rest-of-world 1995 cars fitted with VarioRam; later 1996-1998 cars need Fabspeed's ECU software tune instead.
What octane fuel does it need?
Programmed by default for 91 (95 RON) octane or higher; a 93 (98 RON) octane program is available if you note the preference when ordering.
Will this trigger a check engine light?
No, Fabspeed states its chips do not trigger the check engine light.
Who installs it?
Rennen Motorsport in Adelaide, or an authorised dealer near you. Fitting it yourself may also be an option depending on the part, so raise it on your consult; professional installation is quoted separately.
Is it covered by warranty?
Fabspeed products carry the manufacturer's warranty, supported locally through Rennen Plus as the Australian principal. See our returns policy.
Can I just buy this outright, or do I need to talk to someone first?
Every enquiry, whether it's one part or a full build, starts with a free consult. We confirm the exact spec for your car before anything is quoted or ordered.
