Carbon Fiber Heater Duct Tube

A carbon fiber heater duct tube for the Porsche 993 (1994-1998), a replica of the lightweight factory heat duct Porsche Germany used on its 3.6-liter RS race cars. It replaces the blower motor assembly and ductwork, saving 9 lbs from the rear of the car. Late 1996-1998 cars also need the Porsche factory 964 fan shroud (part 964.106.403.02) purchased separately to complete the install. Removing the blower may need extra wiring relays to stop a fault code and keep in-cabin heat working properly. Simple DIY bolt-on installation. It's equally happy fitted by Rennen Motorsport or an authorised dealer, for owners who'd rather not do it themselves.
Frequently asked
Does the Carbon Fiber Heater Duct Tube fit my 911 Carrera?
This listing is specific to the Porsche 911 Carrera (993). Exact fitment for your year, trim and options is confirmed on your free consult before anything is ordered.
What does the price include?
The delivered price includes the part from Fabspeed USA, freight to Australia, import costs and GST. Enter your postcode to refine delivery; the final figure is confirmed on consult.
How long until it arrives?
Carbon pieces are made to order at Fabspeed USA, and the standard one-week lead time doesn't apply: the lay-up and curing process means build times vary a lot with part complexity. That's exactly why these are consult-only — we confirm the current build time with Fabspeed and give you a real date on your free consult before anything is ordered. Delivery to Australia then adds 3-4 days via UPS, included in the price.
How much weight does this save?
9 lbs from the rear of the car, by replacing the blower motor assembly and ductwork with carbon fiber.
Do I need any other parts to install it?
Late model 1996-1998 cars also require the Porsche factory 964 fan shroud (part 964.106.403.02), purchased separately.
Will removing the blower motor cause any issues?
It may trigger a fault code and affect in-cabin heat unless you add extra wiring relays; Fabspeed provides more detail on this workaround.
Is this based on a factory Porsche part?
Yes, it's a replica of the lightweight heat duct Porsche Germany used on its 3.6-liter RS race cars.
Who installs it?
Rennen Motorsport in Adelaide, or an authorised dealer near you. Fitting it yourself may also be an option depending on the part, so raise it on your consult; professional installation is quoted separately.
Is it covered by warranty?
Fabspeed products carry the manufacturer's warranty, supported locally through Rennen Plus as the Australian principal. See our returns policy.
Can I just buy this outright, or do I need to talk to someone first?
Every enquiry, whether it's one part or a full build, starts with a free consult. We confirm the exact spec for your car before anything is quoted or ordered.
