A cold air upgrade kit for the Porsche 996 Carrera (1998-2004), increasing cold air flow to the engine by 20% when paired with a BMC F1 air filter, while keeping the factory airbox in place. Unlike a simple silicone hose add-on, Fabspeed eliminates the stock airbox's internal restrictive muffler and resonator for real gains. Combined with the BMC filter, it adds up to 14hp (12whp) and 10 ft-lbs of torque on Fabspeed's dyno. Used by professional IMSA Grand-Am teams and PCA club racers in series that require the factory airbox. Tiptronic and X51 models need an extra breather filter and vacuum hose for the factory PCV connection, sourced locally. Simple DIY installation in under 30 minutes; the stock airbox cover is not included. Owners who'd rather not tackle it themselves can have Rennen Motorsport or an authorised dealer fit it instead.

Frequently asked

Does the Cold Air Upgrade Kit fit my 911 Carrera?

This listing is specific to the Porsche 911 Carrera (996). Exact fitment for your year, trim and options is confirmed on your free consult before anything is ordered.

What does the price include?

The delivered price includes the part from Fabspeed USA, freight to Australia, import costs and GST. Enter your postcode to refine delivery; the final figure is confirmed on consult.

How long until it arrives?

Every Fabspeed part is made in-house at Fabspeed USA with about a one-week production lead time, then allow another 3-4 days for delivery to Australia via UPS. That freight is already included in the price.

How much power does it add?

Combined with a BMC F1 air filter, Fabspeed's dyno testing showed up to 14hp (12whp) and 10 ft-lbs of torque.

Does this keep the factory airbox?

Yes, it's designed for racing series that require keeping the factory airbox, working by removing its internal restrictive muffler and resonator rather than replacing the whole box.

Do I need anything else for this to work?

You need a BMC F1 air filter for the stated power gains, and Tiptronic or X51 models need an extra breather filter and vacuum hose, sourced locally.

Is the airbox cover included?

No, the stock airbox cover is not included.

Who installs it?

Rennen Motorsport in Adelaide, or an authorised dealer near you. Fitting it yourself may also be an option depending on the part, so raise it on your consult; professional installation is quoted separately.

Is it covered by warranty?

Fabspeed products carry the manufacturer's warranty, supported locally through Rennen Plus as the Australian principal. See our returns policy.

Can I just buy this outright, or do I need to talk to someone first?

Every enquiry, whether it's one part or a full build, starts with a free consult. We confirm the exact spec for your car before anything is quoted or ordered.
